Interesting book related to The War of the Worlds

We don't seem to have this, but maybe it's worth getting--is anyone familiar with it?

War of the Worlds: Global Dispatches by Kevin Anderson--19 original stories and essays with a different take on the Martian invasion of the Wells classic. The stories are written as if seen through the eyes of various journalists and notables of the time: Edgar Rice Burroughs, Emily Dickinson, Henry James, Rudyard Kipling, Jack London, Percival Lowell, Pablo Picasso, Joseph Pulitzer, Teddy Roosevelt, Leo Tolstoy, Mark Twain, and Jules Verne. In addition to Anderson, authors include Doug Beason, M. Shayne Bell, Gregory Benford, Janet Berliner, David Brin, George Alec Effinger, Barbara Hambly, Mike Resnick, Robert Silverberg, Allen Steele, Walter Jon Williams, Connie Willis, and Dave Wolverton.
