See MoMA image credits below
ARTstor is collaborating with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to share more than 1,400 images of works from its permanent collection in the Digital Library. The images have been selected from the museum's unparalleled collection of modern and contemporary painting and sculpture. The works in the Department of Painting and Sculpture represent a comprehensive overview of major artists and artistic movements from the late 19th century to the present, including masterworks by Umberto Boccioni, Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dalí, Marcel Duchamp, Paul Gauguin, Natalia Goncharova, Frida Kahlo, Vasily Kandinsky, Georgia O'Keeffe, Willem de Kooning, Lee Krasner, Fernand Léger, Rene Magritte, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Auguste Rodin, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Vincent van Gogh, and Andy Warhol, among others.* These selections will join two other collections that MoMA has shared through ARTstor for scholarly and educational use: the Architecture and Design and the Exhibition Installation Photograph Collection from The Museum of Modern Art Archives.

The Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1929 as an educational institution and is dedicated to being the foremost museum of modern art in the world. Its permanent collection consists of more than 150,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects, as well as approximately 22,000 films and four million film stills. The museum also maintains a library and archives to support research and scholarship related to modern and contemporary art. In 2004, MoMA completed the most ambitious building project in its history; Yoshio Taniguchi's design nearly doubled the museum's space for exhibitions and programs. Learn more

The newly designed site makes accessing information from the Florida Electronic Library collection easier than ever. In addition to locating authoritative sources such as magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, and books, and providing up-to-date information on current events, education, business, technology, and health issues, the new site also helps users connect directly with librarians and libraries across the state.

Students, families, teachers, and librarians will find valuable tools to meet their information needs as well. Whether you are a teacher looking for a lesson plan or a student looking for the best electronic information to complete a report for school, the Florida Electronic Library has the quality information and sources you need.

In addition to the site redesign, the Florida Electronic Library is also very pleased to announce that Gale’s PowerSearch 2.0 has been enabled for all InfoTrac resources in the collection. Improvements to Gale’s PowerSearch platform include:

§ Better navigation options, including the new Publication Browse with hover technology, allowing users to see more publication details without clicking through

§ Three languages (Arabic, Polish, and Russian) added to the translation feature, enabling users to translate any of the 150 million articles available on the PowerSearch platform into 11 different languages

§ Addition of “named user” functionality, allowing researchers to save their search histories, maintain search alerts, create RSS feeds, and save documents into their own customized folders

§ Enhanced search results that incorporate images, videos, and podcasts directly into the results list

§ Web 2.0 sharing tools including Del.icio.us, MySpace, Reddit, Digg, Facebook, Newsvine, Twitter, and others

§ ReadSpeaker technology, allowing users to have all articles available via PowerSearch read to them, or downloaded into MP3 format (for an iPod or other audio device) to listen to later
