SPC READS, a yearly event sponsored by the St. Petersburg College campus libraries, chooses one book for the college community to read. Events such as book discussions, panel discussions, an essay contest, and film screenings revolve around the book's theme. Students and community patrons are encouraged to participate.This year the book chosen is The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to his White Mother .
